Where are you located, and do you offer virtual and/or in-person sessions?

I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am able to see clients who reside anywhere in California. I currently offer virtual HIPAA-compliant video sessions. At this time, I do not offer in-person therapy.

What are your fees, and do you take insurance?

My fees are consistent with other doctoral-level practitioners in the San Francisco area with similar training and experience. Please contact me to inquire about current fees.

While I am not currently on any insurance panels, I can provide a superbill (a document that outlines the services a client receives, which insurance companies use for reimbursement) should you choose to utilize your insurance plan. I encourage you to call your insurance company to inquire about any benefits for an out-of-network provider, as many insurance companies reimburse up to 50-80% for out-of-network services.

I have a limited number of sliding scale slots (ie, therapy at a reduced rate) reserved for students and those with limited financial means; however, these are currently full. I would be happy to add you to a waitlist if you would like to be contacted if a sliding scale spot becomes available.

If you are interested in finding a provider with a lower fee, here are some resources you can explore:

How frequently will we meet?

I recommend all new clients begin on a weekly basis so that we can get to know one another and work towards making progress on your goals. From there, we can discuss if it makes sense to schedule sessions on a less frequent basis depending on your needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 48 hour notice of cancellation prior to your scheduled session. If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your session, you will be required to submit full payment.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.  This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

I am interested in working together. What is the next step?

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. If you are interested in couples therapy, I ask that both partners are on the consultation call. If we decide it is not a match, I am happy to provide a referral for you.
